Learning is more important than grades.

I have students that come up to me on a regular basis and ask, "Mr. C what is my grade?" I have probably just told them what their grade was two days earlier. I am now beginning to reply, "Don't be overly concerned about your grade, rather become intent on learning and your grade will take care of itself." I guess it is my little way of trying to counteract our performance driven culture that too often misses the point of why a given endeavor is undertaken in the first place. Learn and acquire knowledge and wisdom dear ones, for then you will begin to have fun and school will no longer be drudgery!
